I have 1784 shots on one charge and still have 12% battery life left I just can't believe how many shots I can get off one charge. Anyone know what wrong with this battery

I am being a wise ass I am just so shocked to see how many shots one can get on the 7D battery. This is fantastic I never dreamed I could have gotten so many shots on none charge

Mike, this is great news...in the past, I've always used grips with my xxD bodies and used two primary BP-11 batteries and two spares but it looks like the newer LP-E6 batteries are living up to their marketing as having extended power reserve. It looks like I can get away with just two LP-E6 batteries with the 7D without any worry of running out of power!

Hey Omar I bought a second battery just to have another one in case I run out of charge and to get the benefit of a full charge. When I had my 50D with a grip I never got this many shots off a charge. Going into the 7D I knew I would be getting some good battery life but not this good. I also use my LCD a lot to check photo's etc
It depends on how you use the camera, I was able to extract 2500 photos off a single BP-511A battery on the 40D on sports days (lots of frames minimal chimping)

Sheesh, I could never squeeze more than about 500 out of my 40D and I rarely chimp or use LV.

Well I ended up getting around 2060 shots with this one battery. I ran the abttery out so I missed the final accurate number. But I am very happy with this and just think if I wasn't using the LCD so much it would have been much more
