Went visiting Death Valley for the first time at the end of summer. The rental's tires were of suspect quality so we did not venture into Devil's Golf Course. Instead, I took this picture standing on the main road.
FYI, unlike many roads in Death Valley (such as the road to The Racetrack), the Devil's Golf Course road is a piece of cake. I can't imagine being in Death Valley without a vehicle I could take on even the mildest dirt roads.
Hi Gary, Thanks so much for the comment. You're right. It was our first trip west, and we did not know what we'd run into. I was tempted to go in, but we seemed to smell burnt rubber. Oh, well, next time.

For the record, this particular gravel road is very unchallenging - if the tires were bad enough to worry about this I wouldn't be driving the car to DV at all! (It is perhaps a mile, almost completely level, and barely washboarded at all.)
That said, your "forced" avoidance of the "gold course" probably led you to create a more interesting photo than you might have found if you had driven out there.
Thank you, Barry. I saw a previous car going in, kicking up lots of dust, and I was reminded of some movie. So I waited for another car and took this one. Glad that it kind of works.
