I went to my local huant this morning but as I expected it wasn't a productive day at all. So I was about to leave there but a guy walked up to me and started talking to
me. I remember him because Jim used to come to our local preserve with this guy. He intoduced himeself to me and said,"...you remember Jim?" "He died of lung cancer yesterday at a hospital."
It was very sad to hear about it but I knew it was coming soon or later.
He was battling with lung cancer and because of that he couldn't walk fast. He never told me how long he'd expected to live but he just seemed to be very happy being out there with some fellow photogs and birders. I haven't seen him since May and I was wondering what happened. And then about 4 weeks ago,I got a mail from him saying that he wasn't doing well and that he wouldn't be able to go out any more....
I sent him a mail wishing him to get well soon.
Since I lost several co-workers and our former business owner to the same cancer
in the past, I feel like I lost one of my family members.
Jim was an easy-going,kind gentleman that anyone would love to go our for birding with.
Hey Jim. I miss you. God will take you to a place where you won't have to suffer from your pain any more.
Sorry to hear about Jim's passing, Hide. I recall meeting him out at the preserve and how he treated me to a view of the LEO that was nesting out there. I believe that was also the same day I 1st met you.
As they say, Jim is in a better place now and I am pleased to have known him, even if it was for a short time.
My condolences Hide. It is always hard when we lose a cherished friend. It always reminds me to appreciate the time we have and the friends around us. Life is just too short. Take care.
Sorry Hide, I do remember Jim's posts in here years ago, and he was a gentleman, sorry you lost a friend bro, I am sure here is in a better place., may he rest in peace.
My condolences as well Hide. More and more we're touched by cancer as friends and family member succumb to the disease. I lost a sister and several very good friends all in one year. May Jim rest in peace.
So sorry to hear of the loss Hide. It is a shame to lose those who enjoy nature so much and you hope that they have instilled that love for nature in someone else to carry on the joy it brings, perhaps that is you my friend, carry happy memories with you of him
Thank you for your kind words. I don't know his personal life much at all because
he didn't talk about it. I just came to know today that he had lost his wife a few years ago.
He probably knew he didn't have much time to live but he never talked about it.Instead,he was really into wildlife photography
and he seemd to have some energy to get up early in the morning to go to the preserve. I have some fond memories about him
and he was very good at finding a bird's nest. I am somehow good at finding dog s...ts on the ground so I had to warn him about it several times.
At least,our shoes stayed clean.
Life is short. If there is something you want to do and if you can do it,you'd better
do it now and enjoy it.
So, to celebrate his peaceful resting,we should enjoy what we all love to do:
enjoy wildlife photography and continue to post oue catches.
