Many of you might associate the two subjects in the first photo with fall color photography opportunities in Southern California but there are plenty of places that display a pretty nice array of color. I recently had the chance to explore some of dem dar hills east of San Diego with Jimmy Gekas of Encinitas. Tons of black oaks have turned the hillsides along with the American Sycamores(shown in the third photo below). Of course it might not be as good as Yosemite or the Eastern Side of the Sierra and it maybe a little more challenging but there is potential around these parts.

Just curious if anyone here does shoot the fall color locally in SoCal? If so I don't mind if you post it here in the thread.

Oooo, I really like #2. Although our So Cal fall colors are somewhat muted compared to other parts of the nation, they can still make pretty pictures.

Really like that second image, Steve. Very nicely composed with some wonderful looking skies, and reflections.

i gotta say #1 is my favorite, it is unusual, unique, and funny! 2 and 3 are beautiful but not as good as #1 lol!

Here is another down from the San Diego area. It's just a piece of pano (1200 pixels), though it would display better crop here unless people like to scroll? This shoud be a little bigger I guess photobucket has limitations too.

Anyone know what the limit is here size wise?

600px tall by as far as it will stretch wide... (It's in the posting guidelines.)

Nice shots! 1 is funny indeed but number two is gorgeous.

Really love the last and especially the 2nd....still find it amazing that it's described as LA!!

Way cool. 2 is schweeeet!!! 3 I really enjoy but I think with a little dodging you could really make that tree pop. Love the contrast there.

Very nice takeaways here. love that soft light and reflection in #2 all are very easy and pleasing to the eye, very nicely seen

PS - a Curves adjustment - bringing up the tree and down the background would possibly get a vote or two for the third one too
