p.1 #1 · CS3 vs CS4

I have CS3 and CS4 and I prefer using CS3 over CS4...I'm pretty sure it's because I haven't taken time learn CS4 but there are some smal changes in CS4 that I don't care for. Anyone else here that prefer CS3 over CS4 or is it I'm an old guy and not keeping up with new technoogy.

While I don't use too many of the features of CS4 over CS3, other than ACR 5.x, Bridge is so much faster in CS4, so well worth the upgrade.

I prefer the interface changes on CS4 over CS3. Take the time and get used to the new features. Some like the adjustments panel may seem not so great at first. But, give the new features a chance. I like the new mask panel. Bridge much better. Clone tool much better. Burn/dodge tools better. ACR required for new cameras.

I can't even remember about the layout of CS3. I remember thinking CS4 was too grey and really disliking it, now it's just normal. Did CS3 have tabbed windows? One thing I now couldn't live without is Alt + Right click and drag for brush size. And Alt + Shift + Right click and drag for brush edge softness. Really nice shortcuts.

One question, why are window layouts different on the Windows and Mac versions of photoshop? I would really like the full screen (grey, not black) view mode with tabs like in windows, not the useless floating window view. The windows version just feels like it makes better use of the available space.

Tabbed windows and the dynamic brush adjustments are both new to CS4.
