It has been awhile since, I have posted in this thread. Here are a couple images, of the sequence of shots, I took, while Shuttle Atlantis, was lifting off from Kennedy Space Center.
I was on the West End of the Causeway, about 5-6 miles from Pad 39A. These two images, have had some slight adjustments, in CS3, and very little cropping.
Settings, as follows: 1D2N+1.4xII+2xII+300/2.8 IS = 840mm, F/8, AV Mode, EC +.07, ISO 800, Autofocus/ AI Servo, Tripod + Ball Head mounted.
Will post more, once I am a bit more awake C&C welcomed.
Beautiful images! I am surprised that they are so crisp. I have never cared for the quality of my 2x series II and here you stacked them and got great shots.
Thank you. Your compliment is greatly appreciated. I ran them through CS3, USM at 90%, 3.0 Pix, 0 Radius. Then did a slight bit of NR in Noiseware Pro, but I have the sharpening filters, turned off.
James, always a joy to see the techno marvel blasting off,, for those that have never visited during one I can highly recommend the event,, the sound and feeling the earth shaking beneath you is something to feel,,
of course long lens are advisable for dress code,, real long,,
^ what he said!
Been down in Orlando during 3 launches, but was working and couldn't get there to see close up.
Did get on the roof of the Renaissance hotel once, that was cool.
Amazingly good for the stacks!
Thanks to all, for the compliments. It is greatly appreciated. The last image, has definitely been the favorite of everyone, who has seen the images.
Kirk,
I was having hit & miss results when practicing, with the stacks prior to shooting the Shuttle Launch. However, I am extremely happy with these results. Will definitely be making some wall hangers
