I shot with a friend's 7D for only about 5min at the Jasper-Pulaski NWR. I was using my MKIII and then briefly switched to his 7D. Didn't notice any negative qualities at all. It seemed like a fantastic cam that performed nearly like my MKIII. I suppose there are some bad copies out there, but for me to have had no experience with one and then to pick this one up and get excellent results immediately tells me that the one I tried was a fine piece of hardware.

This is a great thread - I am so glad to see some images from the 7D. They're all so excellent that it's impossible to single out my favorites - I have been going "Ahhh!" with every scroll.

That's a beautiful shot! I live about 1/2 hour south of Jasper-Pulaski and hope to take my 7D for a workout there in the next few days. Thanks for even more motivation!

With all the still life, landscapes and birds, I thought I'd throw in a football player. I shot some test images w/ my partner's 7D, here's one. It was shot w/ a 100-400, not the sharpest nor the fastest lens in my bag (had a 1d3 w/ a 400 2.8 on the monopod).

Generally, I was pleased. I shot some w/ a 300 2.8 that were very nice too. I did get some wierd OOF shots on high speed. The camera would zip along and then completely dump focus on two or three frames and then lock back on like nothing happened. When set on the lower speed, it never missed a beat. This image was really pretty crisp before the re-size.

There are some nice sharp images posted here, but there are also some (mostly on page 1) that look like they were taken with a P&S.
