Just awesome love how that vibrant sky contrast so nicely with that soft foreground sand, very nicely seen

Ray Still

Thanks Ray, the white sand is quite a change from the darker, less reflective surface I'm used to. I was surprised and pleased at the effect. Glad you enjoyed it too.

The colors in this are to die for Hugh - excellent work.

Alan

Hello Alan, thanks for the kind words. At first I thought the sunset would be bland and unrewarding. I was very pleased to be wrong . Glad you enjoyed the results too

Absolultely love it. I couldn't explain it as well as Larry can but there is something very striking about it. Excellent.

Hi Ute, I enjoyed your explanation too I was very pleased with the results, particularly since it was the first time in the area, and evening instead of morning . Glad you enjoyed it too.

Very striking image, Hugh. Wonderful transition from the sand in the foreground leading to the brilliantly colored sky. And, thanks for the info on the exhibits. This would make for a nice weekend trip for me.

Cheers,
Ed

Hello Ed, thanks for commenting and for the feedback. We are discussing another visit to the Ft. Walton area as soon as the Ida damage is resolved, and, possibly, Apalachicola next weekend. Glad you enjoyed this visit.

PS - if you have to choose, the AA exhibit at the Columbia Museum would be my choice. All of the images were taken and printed by AA. - h

Hello Al, thanks for commenting and for the 'best of' . It made a pretty good print on Exhibition Fiber, and is on the short list for a large version on canvas. Glad you enjoyed it too

love the differences between sky and sand. on one hand bright bold colour, followed by a more muted subtle colour of the sand. somehow work as a unified image.

Thanks Jim, the surroundings were a bit harsh in direct sun, but as the sun set and the light softened, the entire scene seemed to relax into a dream-like look. Glad you enjoyed the result.

Very nice, simple composition and a wash of color. Something about that narrow band of ocean just makes it sing, good eye w/the low angle compressed perspective!

I like the simple boldness here Hugh. The color intensity in the sky doesn't match the water, you could balance the two out if you agree with me. If not still works fine to me.

Hello Steve, thanks for commenting and for the suggestion. I'm pleased with it as is, and particularly after seeing the print. Now if it just holds up on canvas . Glad you enjoyed it too.

Hello Javier, as you have probably noticed, I have a thing for sea oats. They lend a touch of grace to the beach environment. I'm always pleased when I can show them in a good light - pardon the pun . Glad you enjoyed this attempt.
