Hello all, please excuse the absence - a short road trip to visit friends and see the Ansel Adams display at the Columbia, SC museum, and the f/64 Group display at the Light Factory in Charlotte, NC. If you enjoy expert BW work and are in the vicinity, both are worth the visit.

And, another image from the Ft. Walton Beach trip. This one was taken several minutes after the previous version posted. The color was becoming more dense, and the sand more reflective.....

Very artful indeed, Hugh. Has a graphical impact that, in this case, I really like. The color contrasts are quite striking!

Hugh, this image really sings with color. I love the differences between the colors in the sand against the colors in the sky. The orange is almost phosphorescent, and brings out the foreground in a dimensional schism of delicate detail.

The simplistic, eloquent nature of this image instills a feeling of succor and exhiliration all at the same instant.

One of the best I've seen from you Hugh.

Very striking image, Hugh. Wonderful transition from the sand in the foreground leading to the brilliantly colored sky. And, thanks for the info on the exhibits. This would make for a nice weekend trip for me.

Thanks David, the very fine, white gulf sand has a special texture very different from our darker ocean variety, and photographs quite differently. Glad you enjoyed this example
