Dear Wacky Roger:

+1 on the beautiful captures. What exposure compensation do you use when photographing bald eagles with side lighting? The lit side of the raptor will be well exposed, but the shaded area -- typically under the opposing wing -- will not be. I noticed this in photographs I made of a female bald eagle yesterday (Sunday, November 15, 2009).

I found him and some of his friends at Lake Heron close to my home which is Chama, New Mexico.
