Spent some time this weekend sifting through the archives, looking for shots I hadn't processed yet, and came across these that I kinda liked. From Nov, 2008, with Martin and Carlo, in Glen Etive.
It was fairly late afternoon when we headed down the glen, and the shadows were already long-ish.
1) Hardy and lonely.
2) Rugged Scottish mountainside.
3) Loch Etive and the jetty ruins, which of course are no more, taken in the gloaming. A last shaft of light laid across the hill opposite.

First and last are outstanding in my book, Barry. I love the rippled shadow along the bottom of the first shot and that little tree will be a killer element in a print. The third with its beautiful reflection and lovely lines and tones is superb. Great play of light in that one.

2) For the fabulous "tunnel" of light in the mountainside

I remember your last year's trip Barry, nice to be back there. I remember you posted some superb shots with crystal clear reflections and I think the lake in #3 is the same one as on those shots. I must say the jetty ruins provide a perfect foreground, so I'd love to see a bit more space beneath them.

The first is quite interesting with the diagonals and the small tree, but the last is my pick! Great color and comp in that one!

Very nice images, Barry. I like the lonely tree in first and the long shadows and specific light in the others. Thank you for sharing. Good idea with sifting your archive.

A truly beautiful scene you have captured here Barry love the uninhabited look and feel these images relay. #3 is my pick here with the destroyed pier?? awesome. Is that the pier that they finished demolishing and made a dirt lot?. the more I see of Scotland, the more I know I need to get there one day. Great work here Barry

Just love the last shot of the jetty rising out of the reflections, wonderful colours.
Went down to that jetty five times and never got the light and the reflections i wanted. Swore like a trooper the last time i went down there, and saw the jetty was no more! couldn't believe it. Your very lucky to have been able to capture those great shots when you did.

You just 'kinda liked' these Barry? I think they're wonderful, especially all the diagonals of mountainside and shadows in #1 and the glowing quality of light in #3.

Very cool indeed! I love the little tree in 1. Great lines. I think a good b/w study could be done with this one for sure. The last is also very cool. Had to figure out what was going on for a second. Not sure my feelings on the centered anchor but think it works. Love the tones. Good work sir!

I found another view of the lost jetty, for Aaron, less centered

, and also a little later in the evening, only the glow of dusk providing illumination.
