p.1 #1 · Sheep of Colorado

The Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep of Colorado are certainly in their season of rut.
There was a snow storm happening during these shots, which may be evident in some.
Comments and suggestions are always welcome. These do have EXIF attached.

These 3 are more to show the action.
The snow really obscured the action.
4. Head butt (really snowing)

Ops & here I just edited it out as I was too fast.

Nice action in # 4 - wish you could have used a fast shutter speed there...

I'm a bit of a rookie on the forum, so just learning how to time all of this.
Thanks for the comments. I think most of the blur is the snow fall.

Nope it's not -

I checked your shutter speed & it's 1/250s & that's way too slow for this action.

Though the snow adds to the shot a lot.

Thanks Netgarden. It was a fun, but cold time.

Hey Mike I hadn't noticed that you posted some bighorns when I put some up tonight. At least they are different species.
Nice set in the snow. Good job catching the head banger.

Thanks Rob.
Almost didn't post the head bangers, as the quality is low.
Hope it gives insight for other Colorado people.

Sure like the lip curls. Beautiful work. It is the prelude to the ultimate head crash. Well done.

Thank you Al. The rams do seem to start kicking one ram in the testicles before the ultimate head crash. That is the one which starts the action. It is brief, and seems to come with little warning.

I rather enjoyed these, Mike. Of the lip curlers the 2nd shot is my favorite of that genre and the last one has enough blur to give a sense of the action involved.

2 would be my pick but I do have to say the whole series is quite good Mike. The snow adds a lot of drama to the shots, I really like them.
