Went down to Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Gardens this morning. Had heard that the farfugium japonicum, leopard plant, was blooming and happy to find out that it is indeed. These are a late bloomer of the asteraceae family and the critters, flies, bees etc. just love them. Only problem was the darned wind. Hard to shoot near lifesize today.
Hi Kenny,
It certainly IS a love/hate thing. . . .
I absolutely love the pics that you post here,
and I absolutely hate the fact that I can't reproduce the quality in my own shots...

Thank you all for the very kind words. Very much appreciate them.
@Bruce and Matt_3D - it just takes practice, mate. Lots and lots and lots of practice. Your comments made me think of something that always makes me laugh, but it illustrates a point that I think is valid here. The call physicians and attorneys 'practicing' physicians or 'practicing' attorneys and I wonder how long they'll 'practice' before they get good. Think they 'practice' so they'll STAY good. Same thing with macro photography...most photography, really.

hehehe. . . I think that I'm a 'Trying Hard' photographer?
If I keep 'trying hard' maybe one day I will be 'practising'
