p.1 #1 · Kenko + 80-200 AF-D issue...

For those of you with this TC, I am looking for some guidance. I was shooting rugby last weekend with this combo and metering was fine, pictures came out how I wanted, etc, even with terrible rain and clouds.

Yesterday I was shooting in light cloud cover and for some reason the same combo with all the same settings was greatly overexposing the image. Both times I was shooting in Av, ISO 800, F4 (which the D300 reads as 2.8...). Any idea why this is happening?

Note: I unfortunately deleted the overexposed images yesterday then just took the TC off since we were on a short field.

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked that the contacts are clean, aperture lever is moving freely, and lens is stopping down in use? It may be staying wide open.

Used the same combo alot Kenko 1.4 and 80-200 2.8 AF-D.

Does it still do it now... retired it. also how about another lens with the kenko attached?
