Landed on my boot while shooting the green frogs and others. It was particularly interested in tasting my camera, probably the salts in the sweat. Wonder if this is a biter?

Top looking fly mate. The only ones that I get around here are dirty lookin blowies that hang around the rear end of sheep!
Do flies actually bite or do the excrete a very 'stingie' (as in it burns like hell) saliva/spit onto your skin?
