Hey thanks Henry for posting that and thanks everyone for the kind words.
A little history for those of you that don't already know, Arizona Highways is our state's venerable Dept. of Transportation travel publication that been published now for 84 years!! In 1925, they began it to highlight and publicize the fact that Arizona in the unpopulated far west of our great nation did indeed have good highways, and amazing places to see, ie the southwest landscape we all know and love!
Over the years it became one of the finest landscape photography publications in the world. Their long-term relationships with master photographers like Ansel Adams, Joseph Muench, his son David Muench, Jack Dykinga, Gary Ladd, Larry LIndahl, Tom Bean, Fatali, . . . you get the idea . . . and their groundbreaking developments of full color magazine printing, etc. helped in many ways to put the Southwest as we know it on the map.
BTW: at $24 for a year's subscription it's a no-brainer for any landscape photographer wanting to see the state of the art (and the art of our state!).
It's been a dream of mine ever since I bought my first camera six years ago, to be a part of ARizona HIghways. To be featured in their 2010 calendars and in this December's very special all-photo issue is a huge honor. I was fortunate to get two double page spreads!!
But the even bigger news is that my dear friend and fellow FM contributor, Suzanne Mathia, has four images herself, including . . . both THE COVER & THE BACK COVER!! I'm so happy for her I practically hate her!!
Although they haven't posted the December cover yet, you should be able to see it shortly online at http://www.arizonahighways.com/. While you're there grab a subscription; you won't regret it!!
[To answer your question, Henry: they began accepting digital submissions about a year and a half ago. YOu can find their submission guidelines at their website]
Just for interest sake, these were the two they selected for the December issue:
