I'm trying to figure out what the deal is on my uploads to Smugmug. They are insanely slow. I ran a test by putting the same file on Picasa and it uploaded in no time relative to the file size, but most of my files are timing out on Smugmug. Anyone else have this problem?
BTW, I've tried the MacDaddy App, and direct from the website. I don't have LightRoom to try that app.
I just uploaded a 0.77 MB file in 8 seconds. That is pretty consistent with my usual upload rates with my ISP. I usually just use the smugmug drag & drop window for uploading.
I am told SM is working on the large file size issue . . . timeouts issue. Personally, I compress at least 10% without any printing issues for loss of detail. I do use BayPhoto as my preferred lab for SM though.
Tell me about it. I uploaded 277 photos to a gallery overnight. I have a power user account. The files were between 5MB and 10MB in size. At first the upload speed was around 1Mb/s. I checked it an hour or two later and it was down to a little over 300Kb/s where it stayed until the download completed. It took about 12 hours to upload my files!
Any clues on what the issues might be? I'm thinking about calling them Monday. I have another batch I need to upload, and I don't want to have to keep checking on them.

You should use 3-rd party software, its very quick. Just google for it.
