I really like them all Tim. Great control of your depth of field. I would be a little worried about getting multiple faces in focus at such wide open aperatures (I think the farthest I saw you stop down was maybe 2.8?). But you really nailed them all. And talk about capturing expressions! I 100% agree with Steady: of all the photogs I view on this forum, you would be my first call to hire.
Nice, Tim. They all seem to have a slight yellow bias, I seem to remember your usual tones seem to be cooler, especially skin tones. Maybe it's just my monitor. Yes, I know they're Asian, but I've seen you shoot other Asian families and they seem to be cooler. Anyways, well done.
I think #2 is just about as close to perfect as you can get for a girl that age, #8 is great, and #9 for the wall. What the heck -- put 2, 8 AND 9 up on the wall. Well done.
Poor family, they will probably be broke after this photo session because ALL the shots are so wonderful they will have to buy them all! Beautiful work, a real inspiration to those of us who are just learning!
Steady...thank you very much for the kind words. I had so much fun with 5-7. In fact, those three images belong to an entire set of high energy interaction. I could post an entire series just on the girl's expressions alone!
Ed...I feel honored that you would say that. That means a lot to me. And regarding the dof, I must admit, I often push the envelope! But I'll take an initial shot and then zoom in on the lcd to make sure everyone's in focus and then determine how wide I can go.
Justin...thank you very much for your thoughtful comments. You are absolutely correct! Really keen of you to notice. I actually "experimented" a bit with the color cast this time around. I do have a different set of these with a little cooler skin tones. In fact, I'll probably go with the coolers one on a few of these.
