Hi All,

Below are some images that have a certain 'look' done in post production - almost like saturation has been kicked down. I see this done a lot for weddings as well as food photography (street shooting for magazines).

Question is this - How does one get this look in post production (Photoshop, Aperture, etc)?

the first image looks like one of Jose Villa's - shot on film I do believe. So there isn't a "photoshop" recipe for that. I'd recommend checking out some of the photoshop actions and you should find what you are looking for.

High-key, careful work with the contrast curve, yes, somewhat reduced saturation.

Play a bit in Photoshop, it's highly useful :-)

They had a Labor Day sale on most of their programs and I picked it up for $99. The more I use Photoshop, the more I find myself using this software, highly recommended, especially for portraiture work. You'll be able to get that same look with one or two clicks of your mouse.

Maybe there is not a recipe, but one can be developed. With Photoshop competency any film look can be replicated.

Most likely done with a cross processing style curves layer.

#1 could easily be done with ctrl+b and playing with the cyan levels in the midtones, then it looks like a brightness increase and a little of levels to bring back the blacks.

for #3, not much. I'm guessing that right at the end there was a solid color layer put on using 'color' blending mode at about 12% opacity or so and kinda looks like a really light green to me. Gives it a bit of a post-process look. Lower the contrast and saturation and I would think then in levels, you could move the white slider in a bit to give it a bit more shape as with the contrast lowering done before it can wash thigns out.

I'm just speculating...

As for OnOne, it does a lot but this doesn't look like they're stuff. It more looks like lightroom presets.
