I've read some good reviews on this lens, Canon 17-55mm F2.8 IS USM lens and wondered if those that have this lens do think that the image quality is as good as L lenses?

I'm not sure if EF-S lenses works in 1.3 crop.

1 series + EF-S= No, unless you mod. If I'm shooting a new 1 series, I'm pairing it with a 16-35 or 24-70.

A friend of mine has one and it's probably 'L' quality optically but it doesn't matter because it won't mount on a 1.3 crop.
