Hi,

The easiest way to do it is to get a Vivitar cord via Flash Zebra: http://flashzebra.com/wizardcables/vivitar.shtml

After you get that, you'll be good to go!

Cheers,
Sid

Cybercyncs work with the $14 cable.

Or, just buy the hot shoe version.

Don't bother with a DIY. Stick to 14 bucks for a dependable cable.

If you don't want to be chained to the flash with a 14' cord and don't frequently shoot around other flash users consider spending the money instead on a second Vivitar and an optical trigger. I used a pair Vivitars that way for many years and used a 15' sync cord, which is a huge PITA BTW.

For about the same amount of coin you'll have a complete, two light key/fill solution instead of just one light (you will sooner or later pull over and break with that long cord) creating unfilled shadows .

I don't believe he's talking a cord from camera to flash. He already stated he has a wireless trigger system. He's looking to connect the flash to the wireless receiver.

If I understand his issue. I could be wrong.

u can get replacement hot shoes for the vivitar that look liek this

much more reliable, but might cost a bit more, otherwise just buy one of those regular hot shoe adapters that you can attach to the original hot shoe to get a pc sync port

i JUST modded my 430EX with a sync port on the hot shoe... check it out:

I found this but I really doubt that these are PC female on them, they look like some kind of male connector

I have a few of those "India" sourced metal replacement shoes.
They're all over eBay in a few iterations. Some have test fire button which is nice.
They are okay but poorly made/quality.

Make sure they will work with the HV version of the 285 , they should but I'd make sure before I buy a handful.
