I love your photos that is a given. I alway look out for your work when I come on this site. I must ask about your white frames. Is it an action you have made up I really do like the split ones

the first time i ever saw your work, I thought, wow, that guy has incredible vision...you come up with such clever ideas and see the world around you so differently than most and everything appears so simple, not gimmicky......and now, a little over a year later from seeing your first stuff, I am awed that much more. When I look at your work, and this may sound corny, I get a real feeling for who you are as a person...that's a guy I'd like to know! Beautiful work with the children. The rest is good as always. Its easy to see why you have come so far in such a short period of time.
I'm off to a family shoot in a few minutes and I'll take those images of the children with me in my head. Thanks Sam.

Sam... Seriously, you freakin' rocked this post, but even more so, you rock as a person. Your willingness to help and give back always amazes me, but these pictures are proof positive, that goodness revolves and comes back to those who give it. These sets are proof that we have the best jobs in the world.

Sure truly great wedding photography can be inspiring, and the 2 you offered up as well as the engagement set are, but the orphanage stuff is just sick. Incredible.

Thanks Sam , for sharing your usual good stuff, particularly the inner good side of you. Your orphanage images reminding me the images of Floating Misery from a friend of mine, a former war-photojournalist, who traveled to Siem Reap, Cambodia in 2007 & 2009 - to help the people without any citizenship and live in a condition that many can't imagine. In 3 more weeks, I will be there and continue his work.

Though its a bit of a Best-of set, the number of signature-image quality shots is incredible. Very moving stuff in here Sam. You're a mighty force in raising the Bay Area's bar.

I have to come back to give you a better critique later. Just wanted to say this.

Well shucks guys. You made me get all watery eyed.

**here comes the cliche'**

Were reminded at times that what we do is so much more then just flexing our fingers on buttons. Shooting weddings is just a mecca of emotions, memories of the best of one life. Shooting so many this year kinda makes you callus to this at times. Not intentional, just happens like it would with anything you do a lot of. The orphanage shoot put things into perspective again. I left so freaking inspired.

Seriously, I know we all say we will do things like this one day but don't put it off. Do it. It feels so right. I actually went there being fully paid and in contract. my commission was no different then it usually is. It wasn't till I got there tha tI decided this one needs to be on the house.

I got this email today. I cried like a freakin baby. You have no idea.

"Hello Sam, I just wanted to tell you the pictures you took at the mansion were excellent!! I love seeing pictures of the kids. I keep in touch with the mansion thru emails, and facebook. My grandson Caleb is there and has been since Feb 09'. He is the really cute on e with his hand over his eye. He has done so well since being at the mansion. We had him home for his aunts wedding Oct 24 and the difference in him is amazing. Caleb is my son's child, and he is also doing amazing. He is in Alexandria at Grace House, a rehab center thru the Pentecostal of Alexandria. He has been there about 4 months now. The mother of Caleb and my son were never married, and although my son has had a drug for years he never mistreated Caleb. Now the mother on the other hand, who Caleb lived with did. She broke his leg, beat him, deprived him of food, and at the last point when I found all this out, she had choked him until he passed out. I made a phone call to a friend who contacted TCM and within an hour we were on our way there with Caleb. It has changed his life and I am so thankful just to know he is safe. Thanks again for what you did at the mansion. The pictures have touched our whole family. LeAyn Lambert Caleb's nana (gramma)"

WOW. I just don't even know what to say except WOW! This is such an awe inspiring set of 77 pictures and worth going through EVERY ONE OF THEM. The orphanage set moved me to tears...what a powerful story and amazing set of images. Thank you so much for sharing these!!!!!!!
