Sorry guys that I have been so MIA. School is getting the best of me, but I'd still like to share my images from my Europe backpacking trip. I'm nearly done with my Paris images (Rome is next on my list). Stay tuned.
On the one hand I wonder if this is a tad on the busy side. There's a lot to see: bycicle in the foreground, trash receptacle, silhouetted man walking, the woman and the man (what are they doing?), the guy in the shadows (what's he doing?), and of course, the store (another guy in there, store owner perhaps), its light and reflection in the (apparently) wet, rocky pavement. Then there's Che Guevara, way in the back, and I'm not a fan. I guess all that to say, what is this photo about?
In the end, though, the contrast and lighting along with the silhouettes of man and bike hold enough appeal for me. I wonder if more can be done inside the store, though, to not blow the highlights quite that strongly. I'm guessing you tried based on the tonality of the store owner's shirt. All in all, though, I'll give this one an "interesting and worthy of looking" mark.
That's gotta be the windiest review I've given a photo in a long time.
Lots of potential here, Eric, but too busy for my taste.
This one would ring a bell with me if it only included the silhouette passing by.
The light reflecting off the road is nice.
