p.1 #1 · To sign or not to sign

Hi Guys

Just a quick Q for y'all. This image is going to be part of a series of six for a floral exhibition next week. Now I am pretty new to exhibitions having only exhibited in two others. After selling my second framed print last week the lady asked if i would sign the print which I was flattered by and was more than happy to do so. ( the print in question was one of my Buddhist Monk prints)

She also said that i should get into the habbit of signing all my work as they tend to sell better with a signature.

Now the question is would you sign an image like this. I've started taking lots of floral shots against pure white backgrounds and i love the simplicity and minimalist look of them, and my feelings are that a signature would look a little out of place on such images.

By the way the thin grey border is to show where the edges of the mount will be.

Any thoughts

Cheers

Phil

Definitely sign it.....adds a uniqueness to the photo that otherwise may be perceived as a mass produced print.
cheers Andrew
PS nice shot!

I've also seen photos signed on the mat, just under the right corner of the print itself.

Beautiful! Absolutely do sign it. The purchaser can speak of it as purchased from the "artist". Possibly tape your business card to the back?

I've got a pencil dwg I bought from the artist in London on the street, of course that is signed, and I also saved her business card and taped it to the back. I like that things I hang on the wall have a little story, not just having been bought at the fine art section of Pier 1 !
