Well I've been mostly hanging around in the People forum, but I thought I'd come say hi over here in Nature.
It looks like most of the threads here are telephoto wildlife shots (birds, etc). You guys are fantastic, those shots are amazing! I don't have anything like that to share, but just some stuff I got while hiking down in KY (Daniel Boone State Forest / Natural Bridge / Red River Gorge). Figured it fit in this forum best.
Welcome to the Forum Jesse and I think your pics fit right in. I like them and find many of them different and refreshing. Nice to see different perspectives on Nature shots.
Martin
Hey Jesse, don't worry about not having a telephoto with birds on the other end. There is a real variety of things that are enjoyed here - though, birds tend to dominate the numbers game.
I really like your first shot. It's the sort of thing I might print out.
Jesse
We'll have to meet there sometime. I love hanging around the east side of the "Giant Canada Goose Pond". That's what it's called on google maps. I know where both Bald Eagle nests are located. Plus they have areas strictly for migrating birds.
Hello and welcome Jessee I think Martin said it nicely, you have shown us your perspectives of how you see nature, interesting study of textures and colors. I see good potential in your way of seeing and composing, refinement and sharing here will be a great asset for you. #1, #7 and that last view are very pleasing, take care and hope to see more from you!
Thanks for the encouraging comments everyone! You know how to make a guy feel welcome
Bruce, I don't live in the area, unfortunately - I'm an Ohio boy. We were down visiting family for a few days and did a little hiking. I'd love to go back though!
I'm still processing more from this trip so if anything else turns out I'll share.

As I am. Oh well. My wife makes a great partner. We are headed to Jasper-Pulanski on the 27th. I want to see that many Sandhill's.
I really like these, thanks for sharing! I especially like the rock formations, with #3 being my favorite. #1 is really interesting too, with the assortment of colors and textures - looks like an artist might have arranged it. Very cool.
Welcome to the nature forum. Before you come it, don't forget to wipe your muddy feet at the door. All joking aside, these pics have found a great home here. I'm really digging your eye for textures and your contrast is spot on. Nice work all around. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
