p.1 #1 · Calibrating LED iMac

I have a Spyder2 Pro Calibration kit and would like to calibrate my new LED iMac display. The display choices are LCD or CRT. Which should I choose? Does it matter?

Thanks.

Edit: Just calibrated it with the LCD selection. Seems ok to me.

Does Spyder need to specify LED calibration?

Thanks.

I believe the iMac display is LCD with LED backlights, so choosing LCD for calibration is correct.

DIS Ottowa is correct. The only panels out there that are LED are OLED (organic LED) and they are only available in very small form factors (11 inches) and are prohibitively expensive.

One of the great boons (or maybe flaws, depending on how you look at it) for electronics corporations was to trick millions of consumers into thinking that the new panels or TVs they were upgrading to were somehow made of a revolutionary new technology (LEDs), when actually, just the backlight changed and the monitor was still the same (LCD). Perhaps that helps sell more panels. Who knoiws?
