p.1 #1 · LR Export Question

I am exporting raw files in LR to 8x8 jpegs. How is it that when I try and upload them @ mpix, mpix still wants to crop a huge portion off the photo when I select their 8x8 size?
When I say 8x8, I mean height and width for my portfolio.

thanks,

signed frustrated.

Have you stripped out all the metadata and EXIF info? Even very small JPEG files can still be physically pretty large if all the metadata is still embedded.

Not sure what you mean. Is mpix a printing service?? does 8x8 mean 8x8 inches?

If you're uploading images for 8" x 8" prints, you need to crop them to be square before uploading them. Their software is probably cropping your images for you so that they're square.

If the above is what you're talking about, then you've either got to crop your photos to be square before uploading them, so you have control of how they're cropped, or pick another print size that matches the proportions of your image (like 4 " x 6" prints).
