Got my first website online today. I really have to thank FM regular Keith Kapple for taking the time and designing the site for me and putting up with my ignorance when it comes to web design.
Suggestions, Feedback on the best way to design Galleries would greatly be appreciated as of right now I just have one main gallery but want to add and have sub galleries as well any input is appreciated.
Thanks for taking time to look and Thanks again to Keith Kapple for his great work here.
Hi Ray, looks good to me, all seems to be working well...I recognise a few of those images! I look forward to watching it develop
cheers Andrew
PS how much to come over and photograph our cat?!!
I'm a complete amateur but the website looks good to me- I like that it's relatively simple, and browsing the gallery worked well for me. I really enjoyed seeing all the great images you have there.
I'm ignorant about web design myself so I can't help you on sub-gallery design, but I have a couple of small suggestions:
I found the slideshow on your main page just a little bit fast (I felt like I didn't have enough time to take in each image before it had moved on).
And I'm probably being a bit of a stickler about this, but on your "Services" page, I feel like you need to reformat your paragrapsh (since the first sentence of the 2nd paragraph is not about pet portraits, it seems like it belongs in the first paragraph).
Otherwise, the website seems really nice. Good luck!
best,
k
Hello Ray, you have some beautiful collections there. I also thought about the size of the images s. A slightly larger images make them much easier to sell?
Overall is pretty good.
My nitpick, when i am looking your pics, thumbnails are still showing around photos.
Maybe make pics a little bigger to cover thumbnails ?
Ray, very nice. Funny I was thinking the same thing about the images needing to be bigger while I was viewing them. Looks like a good start to a fine business endeavor. Rick
When developing a web site one must keep in mind who is going to be the audience. If you were to view this on a typical uncalibrated smallish monitor your site would work nicely. But here, with this crowd, with their mega screens, size matters No offense guys.
Small images do protect against rip=off, but watermarks can help keep those shots in the family.
So, having said that, with my kick-ass hugh screen, make the images bigger and slow down the slide show by a second or two..
