p.1 #1 · It Rained!

Just got back from visiting family in the North Carolina mountains. The colors were beautiful (so I was told), just peaking out this week (so I was told). But while I was there, it rained. Slow, drizzly, damp, never-ending rain. Shot these from inside the truck.

Thank you, sir.

I forgot to mention, these are straight out of camera. No processing done yet.

I think those are superb conditions for the choice of subject. The closer view in 2 is nice, I would have gone in even closer with just the barn and two trees and background and not the busy foreground.
There is a strange artifact along the left lower edge of the frame in both images, I would crop that out.

Thanks Ute. I hadn't noticed that. But now that you point it out, there is one in the upper right edge also. Hummmmm.

I agree with Ute (ScaryFox), #2 is particularly nice (without the artifact - possibly due to a truck window?), and an even tighter shot really emphasizing the contrast of the dark barn and the bright tree would be fun to see (you can probably get there with a crop, although maybe a somewhat severe one). The soft light really works well though, maybe even better than bright sunlight would have in this particular case.
