thanks everyone. i did go for a "cleaner" feel overall for the couple, and i'm glad it actually happened. a lot of times i say that, and then i accidentally take a really weird set of pictures.
and lisy - you are correct. shooting through the candle holder, or part of it.
one of the shots i think 19 (numbers plz!) looks like the bride is hugging a carboard cutout, i think it's some sort of distortion from the wide, other than that, it's a great set. Amusing knock at hoffer, i didnt notice it until someone else commented on it. haha.
I love the photography too, but there's something about the b&w processing that's throwing me for a little loop. Maybe it's the shitty monitor here at work, but the skin tones all look a little too neutral... almost like there's too much recovery, or something going on. It struck me really strongly when looking at 2 & 3. Everyone is almost exactly 18% grey or something.
I dunno. Saying shit like that makes me feel like a bit of a douche. The photography itself, the moments captured, the posing (where applicable), and all of the color processing is stellar. Very clean and still stylish, like you said. The b&w's are bugging me though.
