First question:

I've had a hard time learning how to properly upload images to this site. I want to delete the images I've posted so far, but have not found a way to do this. How can this be? Why can't I delete my own images? They are not property of this web site...

Second question: What is the best way to upload a decent image to this site? The site has rules about maximum image size- but the images I am uploading are being enlarged and look terrible.

If you uploaded with Image Upload you should be able to simply edit your post and remove them by making appropriate changes to the image boxes below the text .

It is very odd if they are getting enlarged - this is not normal behaviour at all.

Hi alaskasolstice,
To use image upload just start a new post or reply to an existing one and browse the image(s) you would like to be uploaded and shown on your post. (Up to 3 per post)
To delete/edit the images you upload, just edit your post. You will see options to remove the image(s) and/or edit it(them).
Image Upload does not enlarge your files. Perhaps your files are already the size you see on the post.

I do not see a way to edit images. Is there some box that I am missing that edits posts? Where is this box?

In the edit page, look for the "Upload" window. (Right below the message window)
There you will see options to "Remove uploaded image", change it (by browsing a different one) or leave your upload(s) image(s) unchanged.
