p.1 #1 · Snow Leopard, Lightroom 2.0, 5D & 40D import problems??

I am having difficulty importing RAW files onto my MacBook Pro via Lightroom 2.0 lately. I think the 5D has basically been too slow to use as an image source since upgrading to Snow Leopard, so I've just been putting my cards into the 40D, as it still transferred files efficiently. Then, this past week, I'm having problems getting the images off the 40D! I don't get all the files off of the card, and have to keep going back, checking, and trying multiple times to get them all off. Have any of you had this problem? I wonder if I should upgrade to Lightroom 2.5?

Any ideas would be appreciated....

Thanks in advance,

Lisa

Try a card reader.

How are you importing? Using a card reader or direct from the camera? Why not update to the latest version? 2.0 was made to work under Leopard.

Yea, I will update Lightroom and see. I have a card reader, but have never had problems with my cameras before Snow Leopard, hence, the question. Thanks!

I have the same issue with my 40d and lightroom runnign snow leopard on my macbook pro. I just bought a card reader and import my photos that way, seems to be a bit faster anyway.

Dear Princeli:

A high quality card reader is definitely the way to go. I use a Lexar unit with 800 fire wire capacity; and that unit is excellent. No doubt there are other vendors who make comparable card readers, e.g. Sandisk.

Best regards,

Roman

Thanks Porsche917! I've started using my card reader and it is perfect.
