Great images guys!
I'd picked up a loaner copy from CPS a little while ago and took it out to my backyard and see what all the fuss was about. Here's a few sample images taken on my 1D, all taken at 400mm.

I hope this lens does well with 1DMkIIN.....
No reason why it wouldn't....as long as your camera is in good working order and properly set up.....they all give similar results. I shoot with 1DMkIIN, Keith uses 40D, Joshua uses 1DMkIII etc.....no difference in IQ that could be attributed to the camera model, especially on this size images.
So if you see a major difference, that would be either due to a variation in technique or due to your lens requiring calibration or some such.

Found one of the first "real world" test shots with my current 100-400. Fired only a few dozen of those and I was happy with the result......sharp enough for me.
100% crop, mild sharpening (130/0.25/0 USM) applied to the out-of-camera JPG, no other pp.

That looks very nice, Paul.....sharpness, bokeh, exposure and all.
Now, AF performance is a different matter. I believe your 1DMkIIN will let you get more of the well focused shots than 5DII, especially when some action starts to take place.

That is my wish....
Although I'll never be able to do DIF or BIF like you....
I think you will....with a bit of practice and a right tool which you are getting now.
Granted, the 100-400 might not be an ideal BIF lens, but many people use it in that role quite successfully.
