p.1 #1 · Okaloosa Pier

Hi,

Not for everyone I know and thats OK. For me though, it is the obligatory, under the pier, 10-stop filter, B&W image . I'm learning this part of the craft and it is not as easy at it would seem. I am making some progress though! An 8-minute exposure - the wind was so strong I had to hold on to the film's Quickload sleeve for the whole time to avoid major vibrations....

Thanks for looking.

Best,

Jose

A 10 stop filter was enough to allow an 8 minute exposure during daylight hours? Is the film .005 ISO?

I do like the result - very interesting image.

Dynamite! Very refreshing. Lots of tension but also very balanced. This is great example of the power of lines. Congratulations!

Beautiful shot, but 8 minutes seems a bit long. Did you have noise issues because of the length of the exposure? very nice ethereal effect, though.

Great shot Jose!! I enjoyed your early morning shot of the pier too! My wife's spot at the beach is between the pier and the Gulfarium.

Thanks for the shots from home.

Terrific, Jose. Like this a lot. Great composition for b&w. Wonderful detail of the pier, and love the texture in the water.

This is a nice image Jose. The dark tones are deep and and wonderfully smooth. Good tonal structure overall also. I like it.

A good example of how someone with a good photographic eye can make a stunning image out of a seemingly ho-hum subject. I bet most (myself included) would have walked right by this potential scene. Of course, it would be hard to visualize an 8 minute exposure of anything, beforehand, but you get my point. And I am sure the degree of difficulty on this was quite high as well. An excellent capture, it sure works for me!

Hi Jose - could you take a minute, and explain what "film" is? Doh!

wow, very surreal. 10 Stop ND...I need to get one of those, I could not get anywhere near that long of an exposure with my 6 stop, now I know what I need.
