I doubt I could do better but on both of the shots the ball carriers look soft. I like the fact that in both of them you have good action with both offense and defense though and not just mundane shots, all the shots show good action and competition.
I think that 500 SS is great..Unfortunately our field ( not the one shown above) is not as bright as it could be..So I may be getting back to under exposed pictures using that?

Like Paul suggested bump ISO up. If you're unhappy about noise at higher ISO's keep in mind that unexposed images will also be "noisy" after you increase your exposure in post. At least by bumping our ISO you'll get a properly exposed image and won't have to add that to your post processing thereby saving you some time.
If higher ISO and noise is just not an option then you're going to have to shoot with flash. There's no one perfect solution (other than just shooting day games). Some choose to deal with noise from higher ISO's and avoid flash, other choose to shoot with lower ISO's, flash and not deal with noise. Pick your poison.
