Yes, it's doable but you'd need cabling that supports the weird Panasonic 4-wire phonojack.

Which Phottix do you have? I have a couple, one is the Cleon II which can accept different cables. I'll be making a submini to submini cable which I'm hoping will trigger the GF1 - will let you know.

All I know for sure is that the Panasonic releases use a 4-contact mini plug instead of the standard 3 contact one. I'm not sure of the pinout, I'll probably disassemble the first cheap panasonic remote I can find.

Yes, PW's can trigger cameras with the right cable.

The 5D uses a Canon-proprietary connector for its remote (N3 type), the standard minijack is used by the Rebels(E3 type) as well as Pentax and some others.

How many contacts on the connector? Chances are it's the monojack connector for a Rebel or Pentax, which will not work on a G series camera.

All the G series bodies share the same remote connection.

None of the links on B&H will work for you, they're all for standard connectors rather than the proprietary Panasonic connector.

According the GF1 manual the correct remote shutter is the DMW-RSL1. This is the same as other DMC-L1 which is what the ebay shutter supports. So that Cactus trigger should work. I bought one
