Thanks for the encouragement, Rogelio. There's definitely more of a learning curve on the 7D than the 40D. Gee, I may have to read the manual all the way through...

Woweee Steve, first time out with that body and you get these results, impressive! Very cool on that Killdeer IF, really a pretty display and good shot by you. Startling detail on the Green Winged Teal, patterning is wonderful Steve. Nutmeg looks strong too, super looking eye and great contact too.

It's all good buddy, nice rig for reach and detail and crop and .....etc

Karl

Thanks my friend! I of course look at the "half empty" part of the glass and see that it took 400 shots to get less than 10 that I'm satisfied with. Gee, I hope the learning curve gets better soon... You're right about the reach, detail and crop, those along with the 8fps makes it worth the moolah IMHO.

Best Wishes,
Steve

Congrats on the new gear Steve... it's quite obviously in very capable hands.
Very productive "spin"... these are some fine images.
My favorites are the Nutmeg Mannikin, the Hummer, and the IF Killdeer is fantastic and one of the very best I've seen.
Well done.

Kirk

Thanks, Kirk. There's a definite learning curve to the 7D, and as I'm not one to read the manual until I get in trouble I'm probably making it harder figuring this out than I should. But at least I'm havin' fun doing it...

Congrats on your new gear, Steve. Very good job with these, especially with the Kildeer IF. Good job with the exposure of the peli as well. Detail look very good in all of them and some show some beautiful lighting. Sweet lighting and detail in the last two shots.
Nice to see you posting again.

You sure have a small learning curve, great shots, love the teal.

Nope, the learning curve is still there, Larry, it's just that I didn't do too badly on its maiden outing. Now the hard part is fine-tuning the settings.

This is a great set Steve,

very well done with the new toy. Looks like you had better weather this day than the day we met up with Stephen & Johnny.

Well done Steve - still hoping Destined will get well enough for me to go out on Sunday.

# 1, 2, 3, & 8 are my favorites. I got to catch myself one of those Nutmegs....

Lil

Thanks, Lil. Yes, better weather than our outing at the garden, though we had good light on the Orange Bishop, just couldn't get the right angle on him...Maybe we'll see Nutmegs at the Arboretum today, you never know. I'll be satisfed with Woodies and Mandarins, though...

Best Wishes,
Steve

Nice!

Reminds me of the first time I shot a Mannikin in OC. Couldn't find it in my bird guide and had convinced myself I'd found a new species. Named it the Speckled Bravolicius.

I was disappointed to learn of it's previous discovery. My quest continues.

Thanks, JB. If only...Keep the "Bravolicius" on ice, you may yet find need of it..

Steve
