Not to me!

I consider myself a newbie, noob, new, and beginner in MANY things....

In fact, I look at EACH DAY as a "New Beginning!"

But...I recognize that many people don't like to be called a beginner at ANYTHING.

So, I also use the word "Sojourner."

That means someone who is staying for a little while at a place, while they are on a journey. I like that.

Hi All,

I've been over checkin' out what Steady has been up to since yesterday afternoon when I dropped him a PM to get the link, and I'm glad I did! Although I'm not one of the more active sorts here on the boards, Ol' Steady Hand, here, has always been a source of insight and inspiration to me everytime I come to visit! That said, it was no surprise to me, then, to experience the tenor of what he's been up to (creating) outside this forum! Kudos to you, Steady!

If you haven't dropped him a line, yet, you might want to rethink that. (The inside track, here? The man has been going full-bore for the past couple of weeks and, me thinks, a few more dozen PMs to respond to might just do the trick and force him into exhaustion!

Well Steady... Both references work quite well, and even fit the intent.

The group most well known for that song is the 5th Dimension, but a large number of people have done their own version, including Sinatra from what I understand.

Meanwhile... this post will put you back UP in the world of FM!

I saw a Hot Air balloon today flying over the typically wooded hills around here (Birmingham) and I thought:

"Those people must be crazy. Where are they going to land that thing?"

If I go up in a balloon again (I did once to bungee jump in Napa many years ago), I want to know there is a field/pasture or desert or prairie waiting for a soft safe landing.

Been here since 2005, and I consider myself a lurking newbie. I am strictly a hobbyist, but do a few paying gigs.

I used to post and comment on here but stopped for many reasons.

1: Back in the day, this place was full of hero worship. Not a hero? then dont bother.

2: Comments like..Snapshot, dont waist our time. I am sure to the guy who posted, it wasnt a snapshot.

People would hammer folks if the image was too large (or too small). Many of the shooters whos work I admired and followed left because of this. (who was the guy who had a daughter named "Seven". His family stuff was stunning)

3: Too much critisism, little advice.

Today,life is a zoo, and I have less time to shoot, but just the other day I did a bunch of stuff in my house for friends of the wife who wanted some calendar shots. Not the first time I have done it, but they were horrible. Would love to have fealt I could post and get some genuine advice.

Anyway Steady, good thread, and your comments always seem balanced.
