Jeff, good to see folks trying to push the craft, I like the way you thought that one out, I can read that more went into getting that shot than the rest of them, and for that, I like it a lot.
jimil, a couple have already said it, Rags said all but #4 is great, I think too many people want a lot of the car in focus, or too much of the shot. Those that can read it for what it is trying to show, like you did, get it, and understand the concept that the shooter had in their head when they were standing there. Too many people look at it and think, OOF, it is trash. to be clear, I love the shot, I think it is the best of the set, for all the reasons that Jeff mentioned, what you said, and the way I view it, it has a lot of what I try to put into my work, telling a story, capturing a moment, conveying an emotion...not just taking a picture of a race car, or anything else for that matter.
artflake, now I understand your statement. Thanks for clarifying and I do agree with what you said. I find that with similar shots that I've taken, that for the most part, only other photographers really appreciate it for what it is. Like you mentioned, most will want the the whole car in focus. In the end, if one is in the business to sell motorsports photos, you would want to take the shots that customers want.
Cheers!
