p.1 #1 · Sometimes you get Bob!

Here's me as your Uncle Bob . Except of course I was the paid photographer (my arms and 5D) and I got to ruin Bob's shot. He seems to have loved it anyway as he posted it on the facebook page of my client.

If you look closely you can see that I just took the pic (it's on the LCD screen) and the 'write to card' light is on.

Second pic is the one that was getting written to my card of course.

Hmmmm. This is among the best examples of the quality difference between a Bob's pic vs. a professional's pic I've seen. Nicely played.

Don't want to stir anything, but the shot on the LCD is in portrait position and the second photo is in landscape .... was there some extreme cropping going on Or did you post the best of the bunch for your photo?

If you actually looked at the LCD screen you would see there is extreme cropping going on.

Uncle Bob's tend to have to crop severely

Well of course there is cropping. That's what all those megapixels are for . Can you accurately frame an image holding a camera fully extended over your head in a dark room with 250 crazy people doing a Hora around you?

it's interesting to see Uncle Bob shots as I had 14+ of them in a wedding that took me by surprise and told ME to move as I was in their way!

Hoffer gets that high without even having to raise the camera.

You don't have to pixel peep to tell that pic 2 was not taken at the same time as pic 1. Not even close. Just look at the people around the main guy, and even his position is different.

They were at most 5 seconds apart unless the shooter was chimping.

The first picture was taken by Uncle Bob.
You can see the full crop of the shooter's image on his LCD.

The second picture is the shooter's cropped image that was on his LCD.

This is true. I hear once you get a mention in Rangefinder, they send over the levitation boots post-haste.

Funny how Bob's shot resulted in red eye.

I agree with Beauchamp: "This is among the best examples of the quality difference between a Bob's pic vs. a professional's pic I've seen. Nicely played. "

Don't use it as much as I used to but it does come in handy when ceilings are high or your outdoor.

I actually had to break out mine for a bit at a reception this past weekend. Probably the first time I have used it in a year, but still handy to have in the bag since it takes up practically zero space.

Gee, everyone is a critic.... I got like 5 shots of the kid on the chair - looked to me that this is the shot, but everyone was moving pretty fast. There were a couple of other shots like this, where someone with a consumer cam shot my shot - god those people are everywhere!!!

here's a few more which I think I will use as examples on the website... obviously they arenet exactly identical... and mine are the second of each pair of course.
