Carl may boot this outta here but I need to ask.

Any reg SEC shooters in here? Who has shot at Neyland in Knoxville. I want to know how secure the field level photo room is because I want to leave my laptop/gear in there while I'm on the field.

This is my first time visiting UT. Thanks.

I've haven't been to Neyland, but I've been to 5 different stadiums this year, and they all had laptops strewn all over the place unguarded. Myself on the other hand, I bought an 1/8" cable, looped each end and I run it through my bags and lock it to something sturdy.

Indy,
it's been about 6 years since I shot Neyland regularly but the photo room was right inside the tunnel on the south end of the field and there were always a bunch of laptops set up in there. I would feel safe leaving mine there if that means anything to you.
btw, when are you coming down?

Gentlemen,
Thank you for the info. It is helpful. I feel edgy about this trip because I've heard stories about UT, as in traffic and parking. I'm in a media lot right next to the stadium so I feel okay about that, and I will try to arrive 3 hrs or so before kick. I may try to walk around campus to get some shots, also some tailgate action. I just have to accept that every SEC school is a madhouse no matter which one you attend.

Indy, you will have fun. It is, like all SEC games, a zoo.

I think the media room is secure. There always seemed to be a guy at the front door watching things and people.

Traffic is a nightmare. Even with your pass, get there early. Get there late, and the Vol walk or the band's entrance will set you back and the roads get closed for those events. The vol walk is fun to shoot. You can stand by the stadium and shoot up the road as they come down the slight incline.

Also, check out this site for timing of events:

Have fun and let's see some images when you are done. Go Vols.
