p.1 #1 · using leica r lenses with 1dsii (need some help)

I am using a leica r 100 apo with both 1dsii and 1diii. i have installed the split focus screen in the 1dsii and using the regular screen in 1diii. i am using an ebay adapter with focus confirmation

in 1diii with regular screen, when the focus light comes, i take the pic and all is ok.
in the 1dsii when the focus conf comes on, the focus is just a bit off (now tested with both the regular screen and the split focus).

i am trying to use the focus aid in the 1dsii, any clues why the focus is a bit off when the light comes on

It will probably have to do with the autofocus calibration in your 1dsii... however that's usually unlikely, but perhaps such a discerning lens has brought it out. There is a tolerance programmed into the chip, the new chips being used by happypagehk and the like let you change this tolerance so the beep comes at the front/centre/back of the focal plane. That would obviously help on your 1dsii but throw your 1diii out with the same lens.

Perhaps a trip to canon for the 1dsii?
