I'm curious as to how many FM members initially bought a pro-level camera (Canon 1-Series or 5D, Nikon D1/D2/D3, Olympus E-3, etc) and then decided it was "too much camera" or more camera than really needed, ending up with a Canon 20D/30D/40D, Nikon D60/D80/D90, etc.
I'm not talking about downsizing for financial reasons or for going from full frame to crop for higher pixel density or other technical considerations. I just want to know if you initially bought more than you really needed and then settled down with something a little more comfortable or "right sized."
I tried to do something like that by getting the 5D MK II. I really did not like it and then bought another 1Ds MK III. The problem with the smaller Canon bodies is that they are too handicapped for my needs. Canon should take a cue from the old EOS 1 film series. It is possible to make a smaller fine camera like the Nikon D700 form factor, but Canon has lost their way.
