4honor Offline Upload & Sell: Off p.1 #1 · Advanced stitching software? I was wondering if anyone knows a free software that can stitch together photos automatically, not just a strip like for panoramas, but like tiles of 5 by 5 photos... I will be using it to document a wall in a building, with all the stuff on it, but due to space constraints (and distortion of a wide angle lens), I can't just use a fisheye and be done. I would like to end up with a huge jpeg that shows the wall with all straight edges. Anyone knows anything like this? Or do I have to do all the stitching myself in photoshop? If you have to stand close, and the wall is very large, you're going to have some perspective correction to do. I'm not aware of any free programs that offer it, but I would imagine some do. The stitching function sucks in cs2, was much improved in cs3 and is pretty good in cs4. Many people also like autopano pro. But again, if you're very near the wall, and the wall is very large, the problem you're going to have is with perspective, not with lens distortion. So, you can use the best stitching software available (ptgui, imo), but you'll still have to do some perspective correction to get the verticals vertical. Jul 17, 2009 at 03:41 PM
