For some reason I'm tinkering with a perfectly good system now. I guess I can't leave well enough alone. But, that's the nature of us, isn't it, to keep tinkering trying to make things better?
Anyway I've been using a Lowepro Roadrunner AW and a Lowepro Roadrunner Mini to tranport everything. Both are great bags on rollers. Then work out of the car. I mainly shoot wildlife, nature, landscapes, etc. The Mini holds my 200 and 300mm lenses. The larger pack holds everything else. Then I bought a Glass Taxi to transfer one of the larger lenses to when I have the other large lens on camera on a tripod and i go off into the woods. The tripods are transported in separate bags btw. Since I was already transferring one lens into a Glass Taxi, I decided to buy a second Glass Taxi and not use the Roadrunner Mini. Ok, that's done. Now for the rest. I'm also thinking about putting the remaining lenses in another Glass Taxi and use a separate bag for camera bodies and accessories. I haven't decided on what the separate bag will be. But, I'm thinking about the Speed Racer. I've also ordered the Modular Set to try with a belt. i don't want to load down the belt with everything I might need. I just want to use it to carry a few items and to change lenses.
I guess what I'm thinking about is a system that is very flexible and that i can change on the fly for my immediate needs. I'm thinking about using TT components like the modular belt system in a larger modular system where the belt might only be one component. As an example, I can see putting a camera and large lens on a tripod over my shoulder, having an additional large lens in a Glass Taxi on my back, and a waist belt carrying any additional items that I think I might need for a short hike.
Sorry to be so long winded, but I just wanted to give you some idea of what I'm thinking about so that you can make suggestions. What would you suggest? (Besides a good therapist. ) A separate large bag to work out of? A holster? A holster attached to the belt? What?
One of the good things about TT is the number of options it offers. But, one of the bad things is also the number of options it offers. It's driving me crazy trying to decide on the components for my new system!
