these images are from the beach around the hatteras light house and the old location of the lighthouse before it was moved due to beach erosion. C&C always welcome. Kevin.
Number two is just mesmerizing. The first is THE postcard shot. #3 is beautiful in it's stark simplicity. The B&W conversions seem to be right on. Thanks for posting these.
A cool set of shots. I really like them. #2 really sticks out. I really like your work on the B&W processing in it, as well as a being a great composition.
I'm glad you were able to come away with some good work from this trip. For as much as you complained to me the other day about not getting any decent shots.... . Numbers 1 and 2 are my pick. It's always nice to have a dramatic sky in shots similar to the first, but the simplicity and calm feeling of a completely clear sky is equally as pleasing. Awesome job with the composition and conversion in number 2. I can't help but wonder what the color version looks like. Good work Kevin
Oh yeah, in number 2, there is this weird shape in the foreground water. Anyone else seeing it. It's really subtle. Kinda has a "pill shape" look to it. I'm wondering what this might be caused by.

That shot was really finicky because the sun wasn't co-operating ....or should I say the clouds. Needless to say It didn't end up raining but remaining gloomy until the sun got over the band of clouds then it was just dang stinkin hot. I'm still not satisfied with #2 and will probably work on that one some more.
Thanks Barry, I'm still learning how to shoot with the family on vacation...it seems that you have to invite no one, and get up so early...like 0-dark 30 so they arn't waiting impatiently while you snap your pictures....sheeeze.
thanks Teked...i was hoping for at least one good shot from this past trip.
just think how much more impressive the 2nd shot would have been had i gotten there before they moved the lighthouse to the current location....waves crashing on the base of the lighthouse.........or maybe...it wouldn't have survived.
Thank you everyone for your imput on this set....I have a couple more that may be worthy of posting.....Kevin.
