Does anyone know if something like this exists?

Would appreciate any suggestions. I'd like to get a decent setup on a limited budget.

IMHO, limited budget + underwater housing doesnt exist.

best bet would be to buy a point and shoot + housing (or one of the new point and shoots that are made for underwater use).

I was interested in an underwater housing too and asked @getolympus if it was on the product roadmap, he said: Not that I'm aware of at this time. How's that for vague?

Seems like the Canon D10 is exactly what I want for the time being.

The Canon wins then the Pentax. The rest are pure crap, especially the Olympus Tough 8000. This is about the 5th generation Oly, yet it hasn't improved one bit.

I'm thinking of getting something like a Canon G10 and housing. A lot dearer, but vastly superior.

Good choice unless you want the UW PS for outdoor sports as well; the G10 package would be too large and cumbersome.

No, it would only be for UW, I would use my 1D II for sports

I meant for carrying with you while YOU are doing sports, like mountaineering, biking, rafting etc.

Equinox HD6 Underwater Video Housing Kit with Canon VIXIA HF S10 HD Camcorder at B&H or Adorama. Very high end though but the results are "pro publish quality both stills and video.
I know you are looking for a housing but B&H has just housings also.
