If you want to go for the classics, check out Arnold Newman and Phillippe Halsman. There is Karsh too but he always seemed more rigid than the other two. Sometimes you need a push.

Sometimes, this is harder than it seems man. I've been "marketing" the crap out of myself, and I'm having very few hits on taking portraits.

Thanx. This is what I was looking for.

I don't need any motivation to take pix myself, just looking for some awesome artists to help with the inspiration.

Everyone can use a little right?

Some (many) may disagree with this, but I think you can learn alot from the classic style of Monte Zucker (now passed away, but his site is still up) and Clay Blackmore, a former student of Monte's. Learn the basics of lighting and posing faces, then create your own style fully grounded in the basics of what works and what doesn't. To go in a slightly different direction (but the basics are still there), look at Joe McNally, who pushes the envelope on excellent portraiture.
