You've picked a good time of day in terms of the light not being so harsh like it is mid-day! But, I would have rather seen her from the other side so we could at least see her face and see what she is doing..... from this angle you can't even see that she is holding a golf club. Also, a lower f-stop would help blur out the background a bit and help isolate the focus on her.
Suggestions for next time:
A. Try different perspectives (distance shots like this one let us see that she is on a golf course, medium shots to show her body position and form, close up shots to see her expressions).
B. Try different angles....1) get on the other side of the hole from her (be sure you're not facing the sun and watch the shadows on her face!) and take pics as she is watching her shot drop in the hole to get her expression, 2) stand directly in front of her (far enough away you are not distracting), get low to the ground, and get shots from that angle. You get the idea!
Looks like a cute little girl who will be fun to shoot pics of as she learns the sport!
Hi Crteach,
You're quite right about everything. This is almost like a point & shoot, as I just walk by this father & daughter and don' want to miss it before I went out to the parking lot. I did get another shot show her face glowing in the sun just before dawn, and she's as cute as you can imagine. I will post another picture as soon as I can. Thanks
