I really like the shots of the instructors in action - especially the last one.

I think the ladies all have cute smiles in the headshots; nice job getting them engaged in the photos. But the repetition of the poses is a little - well... repetitive. Maybe it would be nice to have a few different angles thrown in if you have them? Just to kind of mix it up and prevent a formulaic look to the sheet.

The first set of headshots are great, very clean looking and well detailed with the black and white. I think they are great and really show the personality of the individuals

Well, done, Todd. You seemed to connect with them all so well...the expressions are all really good. I even like the blurry one too.

Ed, thanks. It's possible I chose a non-ideal way to present these. These will be profile shots for their thumbs and individual web site pages. I did 4 different shots for each instructor, and the others all included their full heads and one was about a half-length shot. They haven't decided yet whether to go with a uniform look to the shots or to let each one be a little different, at the instructors' preferences, but I think with the range I got I am well-armed to provide them with whatever they need. Personally, I like the uniform look, and I worked these up fully in hopes of convincing them this is the way to go. They wouldn't appear so jammed together on the actual web page, and may possibly link to pages with a different shot.

Thank you Seoulman and James. The expressions on these shots are what I was happiest with about this shoot. I always worry about getting a couple of awkward people from whom I can't elicit a natural expression, but these women were all pretty relaxed and comfortable.

I see the two types (styles) of images very differently.

The "headshot" style here has a certain appeal, just not to me. Just consider that a "personal taste" thing.

On the other hand...

The action poses are VERY nicely made and show expression and action and unusual figure positions and good use of light and effects. Those are well done. Nice stuff. Something to make a photographer (or subject) proud.

I really like these - especially the headshots. I was thinking of doing something similar for a pro bono event that I will be photographing later this month. Has close to 700 participants over the course of 4 days. Not sure how I will handle it, but this gives me some great ideas!!
